IT majors throng in Indian cities for health
Hospitals in the Indian city Chennai are now attracting a different class of clients as IT and BPO companies focus more on the healthcare segment. At present, the city plays host to a number of IT and BPO companies serving the healthcare segment. Cognizant Technology Solutions, which derives 20% of its revenues from healthcare, serves this segment primarily from Chennai. Chennai, which is otherwise known as the healthcare capital of the country, has the requisite ecosystem that these companies can leverage for growth. While world-wide, the healthcare market is estimated to be US$4-5 trillion, global spend on healthcare IT is pegged at US$80 billion.
