Telemedicine solution for Kazakhstan
ND SatCom has implemented a telemedicine pilot project in Kazakhstan. It has delivered 16 SkyWAN terminals, which support telemedicine applications in Kazakhstan. ND SatCom’s telemedicine solution enables telephoning, videoconferencing, and exchange of medical data, such as the latest research findings in databases. Due to Kazakhstan’s lack of terrestrial infrastructure in remote areas, satellite communication is the only solution for fast and reliable connections between rural areas and urban medical institutions. A follow-up contract has been awarded just recently which contains further 22 terminals in three other regions. In Kazakhstan, SkyWAN connects medical centres, hospitals and medical universities throughout the country.
