AIIMS connects Faridabad (India) primary health centres via satellite

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Ballabhgarh Rural Health Center has proposed to use satellite connection to connect AIIMS with Primary Health Centers in the regional areas of Faridabad, India. This facility will enable the AIIMS doctors assist their colleagues at the PHCs. The project will connect 12 sub-centers and 27 villages with the premier institute and catering to the population of about 85,000. Medical authorities are planning to link with all the departments, by establishing the emergency consultations. So, if a heart patient visits a PHC, the doctor sitting in AIIMS can check the ECG and henceforth the instruction can be given to doctors in the PHC who can act on the information without delay.
