BCBSGa, Georgia awarded USDA rural development to expand telemedicine programme
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBSGa) has been awarded a $489,085.00 USDA Rural Development grant. This grant would be used to expand access to quality specialty health care for rural Georgians through BCBSGa’s telemedicine program. The Georgia telemedicine program is the largest telemedicine network in the country, which will provide to access the highest quality specialty health care possible to all 8.8 million Georgia citizens. The Georgia Department of Insurance and BCBSGa has partnered to achieve the goal of the programme. It will provide telemedicine services to all BCBSGa members as well as 30 miles away from a telemedicine site.
