Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. to implement Malta Government’s integrated healthcare IT systems project
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has signed a Euro 15 million contract with the Government of Malta for delivering an integrated healthcare IT system to improve patient care. Named as ‘Integrated Health Information System’ (IHIS), the project will result in the installation of state-of-the-art digital medical equipment at Mater Dei Hospital – the nation’s largest care facility. ACS Healthcare Solutions’ picture archiving and communication systems, radiology information systems and library information systems will be installed at Mater Dei in an effort to vastly improve clinical care records and documentation. By initiating this project, the Ministry of Health in Malta started its effort to provide high quality medical and healthcare services for citizens and also build provisions for planned future expansion of Malta’s healthcare network.
