Mobile phones for rural health workers
The Union Government of India advised Orissa Government to put geographical information system (GIS) at each village to deliver health services. The GIS system will help the Health Department to formulate appropriate strategies, besides providing them necessary health indicators. Soon the Health Department will provide mobile phones to health workers, who are currently engaged in controlling malaria. The Department has also reviewed the National Rural Health Mission and Pre Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act. The department is also implementing programmes on malaria, diarhhoea and filaria.
