Tenet, United Healthcare ink agreement
Tenet Healthcare Corp. has signed a two-year, national agreement with United Healthcare. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under the agreement, United Healthcare members will have access to all acute care hospitals in Tenet’s portfolio. Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare owns two hospitals in St. Louis: Des Peres Hospital and Saint Louis University Hospital. Tenet, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates acute care hospitals and related health care services. The company recently announced a multi-year national agreement with Aetna. United Healthcare is a business of United Health Group, which is based in Minnetonka, Minn. United Healthcare and SSM Health Care announced Nov. 26 they reached a verbal agreement on a new four-year contract that provides United Healthcare members with continued access to SSM’s facilities, physician groups and health-care providers in St. Louis.
