Apollo Hospitals to invest INR 100 mn in R&D wing
Apollo Hospitals group will soon be branching out a separate R&D wing. The group aims to form a full circle in the healthcare segment by forming a separate R&D wing, which is expected to have collaborations with premier global research organizations including the US-based National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The group will be setting aside about INR 100 million from its revenues, to be pumped into the R&D wing. Besides, the group will build up a team with scientists from the US and India to focus primarily on cardiac-related diseases initially. The group has over nine centers of excellence and the centre for cardiology and cardio thoracic surgery, is claimed to be the largest cardiovascular groups in the world. The group is also planning to have collaborations with the US-based NIH and a decision towards this is expected next week.
