McKesson launches staff management system designed for NHS

McKesson UK has launched Horizon OneStaff, a rostering, open shift management and time-and-attendance system specifically designed for the NHS. Based on existing market-leading systems from McKesson, Horizon OneStaff is already generating a significant amount of interest from NHS trusts. It is a web-based solution based on data collection and automated processes that produces fair and equitable schedules according to individual skill sets and staff preferences and availability. It enables managers to spend less time organising staff and matching clinical demands to available skills, while still retaining control over workforce and cost. McKesson says that managers can see a typical reduction in the time spent building rosters from three days a month to three hours a month. Also, this unique level of understanding ensures that staff feel valued while ensuring compliance with the EU Working Time Directive. The Time and Attendance module is driven by a powerful rules processor to support the complex pay structures and practices evident in the NHS. Staff can accurately log time and attendance using a variety of methods such as web timesheet entry, badge readers, biometric readers and other equipment. Supervisors are automatically alerted by email when an exception to any rule occurs, enabling corrective action to be taken immediately. As guardians of the Electronic Staff Record (ESR)
