University of Miami partners with Microsoft to improve care of the diabetic
It was reported that partnership between University of Miami and Microsoft was announced to take upon a study to find out is increased primary health care and software can help in improving health of patients with diabetes. 25 patients with diabetes in Overtown, Fla, who are mostly Medicaid beneficiaries will be involved in the study.
Microsoft’s HealthVault online personal health record tool will be utilized by these patients. Also the patients will be communicating with UM physicians and nurses who are using Microsoft’s Office SharePoint Server, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Office Communications Server, as well as Resolution Solutions’ e-learning services. There are other grants which will be used for providing participants with computers while softwares will be donated by Microsoft.
