Diagnostic Centre at Madras Medical College Inaugurated

As a step towards strengthening the diagnostic capabilities, the Madras Medical College recently inaugurated its first molecular diagnostic centre for diagnosis of viral diseases, which will be free of cost for its patients, and also signed a MoU with Bharat Scans to provide diagnosis for patients at subsidised rates. This project was originally mooted in mid 2009 when swine flu scare hit the city. More such testing centres are expected to come up in various parts of the State at Rs 1.58 crore.
