Eye care centre proposed in Uttarakhand
A joint delegation of Indian and Australian officials and health professionals will visit Dehradun to explore possibilities of setting up a tertiary eye care and training centre in Uttarakhand. Considering the significant burden of avoidable blindness and vision impairment on the health care system in India, enhancing access to eye care services services requires an increase in the number of eye care professionals. The centre will cater to patients requiring advanced eye care and will also train optometrists and ophthalmologists.
