Philips Healthcare in India operates in the diagnostic imaging segment including CT, MRI, X-rays, cardiovascular system, nuclear medicine, PET-CT, and ultrasound imaging systems, and is also a significant player in patient monitoring. Philips has also forayed into the fast-growing Indian home healthcare market by introducing the Philips Respironics product categories in obstructive sleep apnea management and home respiratory care.
In 2008, Philips acquired India-based Alpha X-Ray Technologies and Meditronics. With these acquisitions, Philips also expanded its healthcare business to cater to the high-growth economy segment for cardiovascular and general X-Ray systems.
