CE Mark for Sleep Apnoea Device
Ventus Medical has received European CE mark approval for its Provent sleep apnoea therapy. The nasal device fits over both nostrils and uses a proprietary MicroValve design to create pressure and keep the airways open during sleep. While the individual exhales, airflow is nearly unobstructed, allowing normal breathing. While inhaling, the MiroValve closes, directing the air through small channels and creating resistance. This resistance creates expiratory positive airway pressure, which opens the airway during sleep and improves sleep apnoea.
