Paper Abstract
Nowadays, there is an ever increasing amount of information in hospitals that is
being transmitted electronically be it information related to patient, patient
care, back office support, administration, etc. It is important that security be
considered not only at software level but also in every phase of network design
and maintenance. Although much emphasis is being placed on such things as
wireless networks and remote access, it is important that the core wired
network gets attention as it can be thought as the underlying communication
channel or a base for propagation of data for a hospital
