3M India honored with DL Shah National Award by Quality Council of India
3M has won the prestigious QCI“DL Shah National Award on Economics of Quality, awarded by the Quality Council of India. The award was presented to 3M India by Minister for Tourism, Subodh Kant Sahey at the 7th National Quality Conclave, held in New Delhi. 3M has bagged the prestigious award under the Large Scale Manufacturing Sector category for its significant efforts in ensuring a Superior Quality Man-agement System.
Commenting on the achievement, Suhas Sathe, Vice President, Manufacturing & Engineering, 3M India Ltd said, We are honored to have won this recognition from a prestigious organization like QCI. We have found great value in practicing six sigma, kaizen and various other best practices to achieve significant improvement in Quality. These practices, undertaken at our Ranjangaon plant in Pune have helped us improve efficiency and productivity.

The Pune plant of 3M India is a multi-segment plant, situated in Ranjangaon which manufactures a wide portfolio of products, developed for India and the world. The company had recently expanded its Ranjangaon facility through a further investment of Rs. 70 crores last year.
Quality Council of India is an autonomous non-profit organization set up jointly by the Government of India and the Indian Industry represented by the three premiers Industry Associates- ASSOCHAM, CII and FICCI.
