President Urges for a Sustainable Healthcare Roadmap
Noting that a healthy country would be a prosperous country, President Pranab Mukherjee has urged the doctors to reach out to the deprived and extend all possible healthcares in rural areas. He was speaking at the eighth convocation of King George Medical University.
Mukherjee said the need of the hour was to take healthcare and advancements in medical science to the villages and the poorest of poor.
He asked medical experts to draw a sustainable healthcare roadmap wherein an effective policy was built against population growth and new diseases.
Earlier on his arrival, Uttar Pradesh Governor B.L. Joshi and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav welcomed him.
The president is on a two-day visit to Lucknow.
