USD 70 Million World Bank Loan for Karnataka Health Systems
An agreement for World Bank assistance of USD 70 million for the ‘Additional Financing of Karnataka Health Systems Development and Reform Project’ was signed by Shri Prabodh Saxena, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance on behalf of the Government of India and Mr. Michael Haney, Operations Advisor, World Bank (India) on behalf of the World Bank and Dr. Vishal R., Project Administrator on behalf of the Government of Karnataka.
The main objective is to improve the health services delivery, public-private collaboration and financing particularly for the benefit of underserved and vulnerable groups in Karnataka.
Project component includes strengthening of existing government health programs, innovations in service delivery and health financing, project management and monitoring and uation. The additional financing of the Project will be implemented till 31.3.2016.
