Top US Physicians Body Opens Door for Indian Doctors
Indian doctors can now enroll for membership of the American College of Physicians to access its vast data and resources to keep themselves updated
New Delhi: With the American College of Physicians (ACP) opening it membership for Indian doctors, the vast data and resources of the American College of Physicians ” the second largest physician group in the United States” will now be accessible to Indian doctors, to keep themselves updated with the latest clinical guidelines and treatment protocols.
We have a vast knowledge base and our task is to make the physicians up-to-date with the latest in the field through a number of programmes, an ACP official said.
ACPs mission is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of healthcare by fostering excellence and professional in the practice of medicine, the official added.
ACP currently has 133,000 members that include internists, internal medicine subspecialists, medical students, residents, and fellows. Out of the total members, 10 per cent are outside the US.
ACPs membership offers a variety of training programmes on office-based procedures, physical examinations, trends in medicine and use of assessment tool to continuously test physicians themselves on skills/knowledge. ACP is positioned as knowledge leader being the largest medical society in US.
