India’s M&A deals: Healthcare captured 21.6 percent market share

The Healthcare sector accounted for majority of the acquisitions involving Indian companies with 21.6 percent market share worth US$4.4 billion, an 83.8 percent increase from the first half of 2013, and the highest first half period since 2010 (US$5.2 billion). Energy & Power sector followed next and captured 19.0 percent of the market share with US$3.9 billion worth of deals, up 16.0 percent from the same period last year.

The TMT sector (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) captured an aggregate market share of 13.3 percent as combined deal value increased 22.5 percent to US$2.7 billion from the first half of 2013.
