Indian admitted to RML Hospital for suspected ebola infection

ebola virusAn Indian engineer who was working in Nigeria has been admitted to Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital in Delhi for suspected Ebola infection.

The 28-year-old engineer has been admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital and his blood samples have been sent to Punes National Institute of Virology for tests.

The patient was taken to RML hospital directly from the airport and quarantined there. Since the incubation period of the virus is twenty one days, he will continue to remain quarantined for that period.

The Indian government is taking all preventive measures against the Ebola virus. It has issued a high alert and started screening passengers arriving from African countries.
