Union Health Minister J P Nadda launched the Clean and Green campaign at AIIMS

As a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign), Union Health Minister J P Nadda launched the Clean and Green campaign at AIIMS to upgrade cleanliness in 12 major tertiary care hospitals of the country.

The campaign will instil a sense of urgency and seriousness of purpose of cleanliness issues in hospitals. Under this the health ministry will award the hospital with best sanitation and cleanliness maintenance in next one year.


On the occasion J P Nadda said that hospitals need not to worry as the government will provide full financial support to the hospitals for implementation of the campaign.


Under the campaign AIIMS would form several committees on issues such as sanitation and staff management.

According to B P, Sharma, Secretary (HFW), that any innovation at AIIMS in maintaining cleanliness and hygienic environment at the institution and the premises on a sustained basis will set an example for other institutions across the country to emulate.


Health Minister also unveiled the Clean and Green campaign logo which includes the seven tasks enlisted under the Kayakalp guidelines, as seven green leaves.
