Infosys to help build 300-bed hospital complex in Bengaluru
Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and corporate social responsibility arm of Infosys, will help build a 300-bed hospital complex in the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Science and Research in Bengaluru.
Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy recently laid the foundation stone for the project which aims to help reduce the congestion faced by the hospital. It will also provide treatment facilities to patients who travel here from various parts of the country.
Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murthy, tourism minister S R Mahesh and the director of Jayadeva Hospital, Dr C N Manjunath, were also present on the occasion.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between Infosys Foundation and Jayadeva Hospital on this occasion.
The Foundation has also agreed to help construct a 100-bed capacity maternal and child care hospital in Kanakapura in the adjoining Ramanagara district of Bengaluru, a Foundation release said.
Established in 1996, the Infosys Foundation supports programmes in the areas of education, rural development, healthcare, arts and culture, and destitute care. Its mission is to work in remote regions of several states in India
