Apollo’s HNG, AAPI join hands to deliver free virtual consultation
American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) has inked a deal with HealthNet Global Ltd (HNG), an arm of Apollo Hospitals, offering virtual second opinion consultations to the rural population across country.
As per a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed by Apollo Group Joint Managing Director Dr Sangeeta Reddy and AAPI President Dr Suresh Reddy, AAPI member doctors will offer virtual opinion through video call, audio call, and email from the US.
The service would be provided free to underprivileged people living in States including Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and other State where HNG has a presence.
Dr Reddy was quoted by the Hindu as saying, “This is offered at Mee Seva Centrees or Common Service Centres where people can find ‘tele medicine’ option. Doctors from USA who are members of AAPI and wish to give free service will be made part of it. We will add ‘AAPI’ button in the next 90 days. Apollo Hospitals doctors who want to offer free service will also be part of it.”
“Under this initiative of Telemedicine, we can deliver world class medical service to rural areas in India,” Suresh Reddy, President, AAPI said at a press conference held on Monday.
