Soon, MP govt to launch ‘Maha Ayushman’ with more health benefits

Kamal Nath-led Congress govt of Madhya Pradesh is planning to launch improvised version of Centre’s flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat, under the ‘right to health’ policy.

The scheme would be called ‘Maha Ayushman’ and Rs7.50 lakh health coverage would be given to people at large.

Currently Centre’s flagship scheme has a provision of Rs 5 Lakh health coverage to below poverty line people.

Reports say that under the new scheme, the State Government would provide the health benefits to middle class and top class as well. In addition, the new scheme would also offer a accidental coverage of worth Rs 2.5 lakh to every family.

“The new scheme will be an improved version of Ayushman Bharat,” State’s health minister Tulsi Silawat was quoted as saying.

Sources say that the new scheme would be launched on August 15.

Around 1 crore 48 people are getting benefitted currently with Centre’s Ayushman Bharat scheme and the figure would rise up to 1 crore 88 lakh once the new scheme rolls out.
