EESL signs agreement with Apollo Hospitals to install electric vehicle charging stations
In a bid to improve the electric vehicle charging infrastructure, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has signed a 10-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Apollo Hospitals Enterprises to install public electric vehicle charging stations in its hospitals.
“This is a first such MoU by EESL with a private partner, to set up public charging infrastructure in the country”, the company said.

According to the pact, EESL will invest on specified services in advance and distribute eligible manpower for the operation.

The Memorandum of Understanding with Apollo Hospitals will strengthen the role of private sector in achieving the goal of National Electric Mobility Programme.
When asked about the agreement, EESL Director- Projects Venkatesh Dwivedi said, “Electric mobility is vital to reducing airborne emissions and enhancing air quality, a cause the healthcare can resonate with.”

In order to have an efficient charging infrastructure, Apollo Hospitals will provide the required space and power connections, he further added.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited is a joint venture of four national Public-Sector Undertakings – NTPC Limited, Power Finance Corporation Limited, Rural Electrification Corporation Limited and POWERGRID Corporation of India Limited.
