India among 10 poor performing countries for quality of life: Survey
India has been ranked among poor performing countries in terms of quality of life and working abroad, as per Expat Insider 2019 survey.
India fared at 59th position among 64 countries in the report released by InterNations, the world’s largest expat community recently. The survey ranked countries on five parameters including Quality of Life, Ease of Settling In, Working Abroad, Family Life, and Personal Finance.

Taiwan was ranked first followed by Vietnam and Portugal for their ease of settling in and good personal finances.

“Expat Insider”, which claims to be one of the world’s most extensive surveys about living and working abroad, surveyed 20,259 participants from around the globe.
The other four countries which were ranked better than India include Italy, Nigeria, Brazil and Turkey. India’s neighbours – Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka – do not form part of the survey.

Perhaps that most negative factor for India in the report is about safety and security, in which India ranked 60th of 64 countries. The countries performing worse than India include Brazil, which ranks the worst, followed by South Africa, Nigeria and Argentina.

Pointing out that a major characteristic of India is living low-cost at a price, and asserting that in India “expats struggle to settle in India”, the report said.
