NEET BDS Admission 2019: BDS Cut-offs lowered, NTA yet to release revised results
In a recent development, BDS Admission Cut-off 2019 for admission to undergraduate dental courses in the country has been lowered. A report by a leading media house has confirmed that BDS Admission Cut-offs on the basis of NEET 2019 Results have been cut down by nearly 10 percentile post this decision. Similar to all medical admissions, BDS admission cut-offs are also based on National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – NEET 2019 scores.
With cuts-off being lowered by 10 percentile, the general category students will now apply to undergraduate dental programmes with minimum 40 percentile as well. For SC, ST and OBC category students, the cut-offs will be cut down to 30 percentile. Whereas, students with locomotory disability of lower limbs, cut-offs will be lowered to 35 percentile.
According to an official announcement released by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the decision to lower the cut-offs for BDS Admission 2019 was taken by the ministry in consultation with the Dental Council of India (DCI) and other stakeholders.
Post the lowering of BDS Admission Cut-offs 2019, NTA which conducts the NEET 2019 Medical Entrance Exam has also been asked to make the announcement of revised results in accordance with lowered qualifying percentiles. The exact date and other details are yet to be announced.

Before the BDS admissions, Ministry of Health & Family Welcome also released the revised cut-offs for PG admission for academic session 2019-20. The NEET PG cut-offs 2019 were cut down by nearly 6 percentile for all categories. Post this announcement, the revised cut-offs for PG Medical admissions for General Category Students was at 44 percentile, Students with Locomotory Disability of Lower Limbs at 39 percentile and SC / ST / OBC Category students at 34 percentile.
