Coronavirus Pandemic in India: Total cases rise to 562; one death from Tamil Nadu
With several news cases coming to the fore including one death reported from Tamil Nadu due to Coronavirus outbreak, the total number of positive cases in India has mounted to 562. Total 10 fatalities have been reported from across the country.
As per the health ministry so far 562 confirmed coronavirus cases have come to light including 512 active cases.

A complete lockdown has been imposed across country after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an announcement regarding so in Tuesday evening address to the nation. PM announced that there would be three weeks of lockdown starting midnight of March 24. Effectively, the lockdown will be till April 14.

“To save India, to save its every citizen, you, your family… every street, every neighbourhood is being put under lockdown,” Modi said in a televised speech.
Modi warned that if India does not “handle these 21 days well, then our country… will go backwards by 21 years”.

“This is a curfew,” he said. “We will have to pay the economic cost of this but it is for your safety.”

He appealed for people not to panic and assured the essential services will carry on as usual – but crowds quickly mobbed stores in the Delhi and other cities.
Covid-19 has affected 421,413 people globally and 18,810 people have died from it across the world.
