NEET 2020: NTA likely to double test centres amidst COVID-19

It looks like conducting National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) would be a little tough this time in the wake of ongoing Corona crisis. Reportedly, the National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts the exam has been asked to increase the number of test centre to follow the social distancing, an imminent practice to key the virus at bay.

AS per an Indian Express report, the HRD Ministry has directed NTA to double the number of centres to accommodate around 15 lakh aspirants who are set to take the test amidst the pandemic.

The report says NTA is now planning to seat two candidates two metres apart. This means, NDA would require roughly 6,000 test centres, two time of originally planned seats.

NEET, a pen-and-paper exam, is a gateway to admission into undergraduate medical courses in medical colleges across the country. Originally the exam was scheduled for May 3, But now it will be conducted on July 26.
