Bihar: CM inaugurates Jai Prabha Medanta hospital in Patna

Healthcare delivery system of Bihar got a big boost recently as Chief Minister inaugurated Jai Prabha Medanta Super speciality Hospital in Kankarbagh area. In the wake of Covid-19, senior doctors at Medanta, Guargon would provide telemedicine facilities to patients at the hospital.

Soon after the inauguration of the hospital on Friday, OPD services related to internal medicine, nephrology, and cardiology started at the hospital.


In May 2016, CM had laid foundation stone for the construction of the hospital. On Friday, CM also visited different wards and was apprised about the facilities and services.


As per a TOI report, 25 percent of the seats will be reserved for poor and needy families and they will be charged as per CGHS scheme at the hospital.

“Once the hospital is established fully, the health department will get the premium or 1% of annual revenue whichever is more. Till now, the health department has received over Rs 21 crore revenue from Medanta hospital. This super speciality hospital will not only improve health services, but also increase health department’s income,” Government was quoted saying by the report.
