Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders of states and union territories have discussed the ways of getting school dropouts back into the education system. They also discussed substituting more imported products with locally-made ones, as well as improving GST receipts and making India TB-free by 2025.

The central and state leaders discussed a synchronised national agenda for development, Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog has said after the sixth meeting of the federal policy-making body’s governing council led by the Prime Minister.

According to Kumar, the leaders have discussed making India a manufacturing powerhouse, re-imagining the farm sector, improving physical infrastructure, quickening human resource development, improving service delivery at the lowest level, and health and nutrition.

“If states make special efforts, then GST collection can further improve and help in revenue collection of the Centre and the states,” Kumar said.
