Uttar Pradesh Logs Highest Single-day Surge of 18,021 Covid Cases, to Open 12 new RT-PCR Laboratories
Uttar Pradesh has registered the highest single-day surge by clocking 18,021 Covid cases. Besides, it reported 85 deaths taking the toll in the state to 9,309, according to a senior official.
The total count of Corona cases in Uttar Pradesh stands at 7,23,582. The state’s active caseload is 95,980. Also, Uttar Pradesh has registered 85 deaths in the last 24 hours, the highest single-day toll in, as per official figures.
Uttar Pradesh tested 2.18 lakh samples on Monday. It tested over 3.71 crore samples so far, Amit Mohan Prasad, Uttar Pradesh’s Additional Chief Secretary of Health has said. The state is in the process of opening 12 new RT-PCR laboratories to boost testing capacity, he also informed.
On April 11, Uttar Pradesh registered a daily spike of 15,353 cases. It has administered Covid vaccines for over 80 lakh persons.
