Covid Second Wave Claims Lives of 269 Doctors: Indian Medical Association
The country has lost 269 doctors in the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic over the last months, according to Indian Medical Association (IMA). Also, India lost 748 doctors in the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
While 78 doctors have died in Bihar, 37 have died in Uttar Pradesh during the second wave. Severely second wave-affected Delhi has witnessed the death of 28 doctors due to the Covid-19.

While a thousand doctors succumbed to the Covid-19 so far, the actual death toll may be higher as the medical association only has a record of its 3.5 lakh members, IMA has said. The country has an estimated 12 lakh-plus doctors.
