Delhi’s AIIMS Adds 150 Beds for Covid-19 Patients

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS Delhi has attached 150 beds for treating the Covid-19 patients, thereby increasing the total bed count to 241 in its main building. The added beds are located on its ward block’s second and sixth floors.

It has 294 beds at its trauma centre, which were converted into Covid-19 treatment centre in 2020. Also, there are 489 beds in AIIMS’ cancer centre located in Jhajjar.


Delhi has earmarked 21,805 beads for treating the Covid-19 across city hospitals. The Government of NCT of Delhi also plans for setting up 1,200 makeshift ICU beds once Delhi begins getting more oxygen from the union government’s quota. Satyendar Jain, Delhi health minister, has also informed that its newly-built Dwarka’s Indira Gandhi Hospital will roll out 500 oxygen beds within next week.
