Dr Reddy’s Announces Soft Launch of Russian Sputnik V Covid Vaccine for India
Hyderabad-headquartered pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories has reportedly said that the maiden imported Sputnik V vaccine consignment that descended on India on May 1 has got regulatory approval from the Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL), Kasauli, on May 13. It has conducted a soft launch of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine as a part of a limited pilot. The company also said that the first dose of the Russian vaccine was administered in Hyderabad on May 14.
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories also said that it expects more consignments of imported doses of Sputnik V vaccines over the next months. It also said that the supply of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine will subsequently start from the Indian manufacturing partners. At present, the imported doses of the vaccine will come at Rs 948 MRP with 5% GST per dose. However, the price of the Sputnik V vaccine may be reduced when domestic supply commences.
