Rajasthan: Over 300 Children Test Positive for Covid-19 in Two Districts
Rajasthan’s Dungarpur has reportedly seen as many as 325 children testing positive for the Covid-19 in the last few days. The state’s Dausa district is also said to have witnessed a similar situation.
India’s apex child rights body, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has said that the union and state governments should heighten their preparations for protecting neonatal and children as the third wave of the Covid-19 is projected to strike the country.
Priyank Kanoongo, Chairperson of NCPCR, in a letter to the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, said that the ongoing second wave of the novel Coronavirus is affecting a slightly greater count of younger people. The third wave of the Covid-19 that is projected to hit the country will also impact children.
Underscoring the urgent need for reorganising the National Emergency Transport Service (NETS), he requested the union health ministry for issuing necessary directions for the service and ambulances to be able to prepare particularly for children and neonatal.
