Union Health Minister to chair meeting against rising Dengue cases in the capital

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will chair a review meeting against rising Dengue cases in the capital. Official representatives of National Centre for Disease Control and National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme will also be present during the meeting. The sudden surge in the dengue cases in Delhi has created an alarming situation with over 1000 cases being reported till date with more than 280 cases coming in the previous week.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has instructed state-run hospitals to use one-third of the Covid-19 beds for treatment of dengue, malaria and chikungunya patients in the capital. These beds would be completely separated from those of the Covid patients and the staff would also be separate to rule out any possibility of the infection. The first death due to the vector-borne disease of this season in the city was reported on October 18.
