PTI launches Task Force on Health Care Technology for Cities and Counties

The growing concern about the use of technology to provide health care services to residents leads to the launch of the Task Force on Health Care Technology for Cities and Counties by the Public Technology Institute (PTI). The task force is designed to serve as a resource for local government officials responsible for implementing technology solutions in the management of health care services. The use of technology in medical care involves ability to store and share sensitive medical records among various authorised individuals and entities. Over the next three months, PTI will invite interested local officials to join the Task Force on Health Care Technology for Cities and Counties. The task force will then will develop a research agenda that will target the priority issues identified by task force members, as well as develop educational material (white papers, articles, web-based resources) to raise awareness of how effective deployment of technology applications and management practices can positively impact the delivery of health care services.
