Website recycles discarded medical data to aid research

A website that was set up 10 years ago enables scientists to reuse previously discarded medical data to better understand complex human physiology. Over 3 terabytes of data is now uploaded each month and the data has produced over 400 published papers. About 10 years ago, a team of researchers started recycling anonymous medical measurements typically discarded after patient exams. These included complete recordings of heart and brain wave activity. At the time, the scientists harnessed a relatively new technology
