Cipla invests heavily in hiring
Cipla has recently invested heavily in recruiting new talent, including new business school graduates as well as senior utives from foreign companies and domestic peers, Business Standard reported Monday.
The company recently hired senior utives in areas of finance and international business & strategy from competitors such as Lupin and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.

Meanwhile, CEO Subhanu Saxena was hired from Novartis, while former Teva and Glaxo Smith Kline utive Frank Peters was named head of Cipla’s respiratory business and the EU region in July 2013.

A spokesperson for the Indian drug maker said that the moves were part of a five-year strategy to sustain growth.
“Our core team is a good mix of people in Cipla for several years and some talented new recruits,” the spokesperson continued, adding “we have now reached some level of steady state in terms of the organisation build.”

“What we’ve put in place gives us the footing to achieve a leadership position in our areas of strength,” the spokesperson noted.
