London Air Ambulance sets up donation by text message
London’s Air Ambulance has set up a system to enable donations by texting to help increase the funds needed to maintain and run the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). The text-to-donate service, hosted by Oxygen8 Communications, operates on a ‘short-code platform’. Any member of the public wishing to make a donation to the charity can simply send a text message using their mobile phone to the short code LA81, which generates a one-off donation via the cost of the text message.
