Ghana Government and World Bank establish Health Insurance Project
A National Health Insurance project has been set up by Ghana Government and The World Bank, to deal with key policies and operational issues that affect the smooth operations of NHIS. This Inter Agency Steering committee governed project will guarantee the strengthening of the financial and operational management of the scheme. Benjamin Kunbour, Deputy Minister of Health, and Chairman of NHIP, mentioned that there are three major components of the scheme that need to be addressed which are Policy Development, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Management Training.
