Biocons expansion plans to generate 1,500 jobs
Strengthening its business prospect, Indias biopharmaceutical company Biocon will expand its presence in Hyderabad while its subsidiary Syngene will set up a research and development facility in the region.

Announcing at 15th BioAsia, the company said that the expansion and facility are expected to create 1,500 jobs in the region.

The company will increase its presence in APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients)/ Intermediates to add 500 new jobs and the R&D lab in Genome Valley to generate additional 1,000 tech jobs. Bringing the benefit of high quality, affordable, novel biologics and biosimilars to patients in India, the company develops, manufactures and supplies life-saving biopharmaceuticals for diseases like diabetes, cancer and other autoimmune conditions.
The State Government is developing infrastructure at fast pace including Pharma City, Medical Devices Park and Genome Valley Phase 2 while focussing on sectors like pharma, life sciences, food processing, etc. This initiative by the State Government will enable strengthen healthcare industry in the state.
