18,987 new Covid-19 cases recorded in India
A rise in the number of Covid-19 cases was observed in India with 18,987 new cases and 246 fatalities were reported according to data updated early this morning by the Union Health Ministry’s data. The statistics shared further indicate that the infection tally has gone up to 3,40,20,730 while the numbers of deaths reached 4,51,435.
Under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive 96.82 Cr. vaccine doses have been administered so far with Recovery Rate currently at 98.07% that is highest since March 2020 stated the Ministry Data. Numbers also indicate that 19,808 recoveries have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total rise in recoveries to 3,33,62,709.
While the ongoing festival season is being taken as one of the reasons for the rise in cases, the Ministry earlier this week had urged citizens to take all necessary precautions while celebrating various festivals across the country.
