Fortis Healthcare has signed an agreement with ‘Foundation Buntu’, a non profit organisation registered under the Government of Republic Of Burundi. Through this tie-up, Fortis Healthcare would serve patients who require care and treatment in Neurosciences, Oncology, Orthopedics & Cardiac Sciences, informed Fortis.

The European Association of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) presented its Techno-College Innovation Award for 2010 to Siemens Healthcare for its development of the syngo Aortic ValveGuide software. The award celebrates innovations which represent advances in cardiac surgery. This is the first time that Siemens has won the award.

MCI recommends 500 medical colleges in next five years

There is an urgent need for atleast 500 medical colleges in India and that too in the next five years, urged the Medical Council of India (MCI). Further to that the MCI has also recommended that the proposed new medical colleges can be established now with a minimum requirement of only 10 acres of land and more than 250 students.
