A telemedicine project by the State Department, IBM, and other public and private organizations has enabled medical specialists to treat patients in remote, medically underserved areas of northern Pakistan, some of whom have suffered for years from easily treatable diseases.
The Vodafone Espana Foundation, the Spanish Red Cross and Qualcomm, have joined together to launch a project using 3G broadband technology to trial new ways of connecting elderly people in Spain to their family and friends.
Both Alaska Power & Telephone (AP&T) and Organised Village of Kasaan (OVK) have announced the completion of the work and delivery of wireless broadband services to Kasaan, an Alaskan Native community located 25 miles west of Ketchikan on Prince of Wales Island.
Broadband technology will now help Victorian mobile breast screening services. The new technology will be piloted for three years in various locations around Victoria, such as Corryong, Yarrawonga, Myrtleford, Tallangatta and Wangaratta.
