Union Health Minister Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad has approved the Bachelor for Rural Medicine Course (BRMC), giving all states the choice to adopt it. Minor changes are being made in the proposed course and the proposal has been sent to the Medical Council of India (MCI).
The health ministry will soon finalise the syllabus for the proposed short-term medical course for training doctors especially for rural areas, according to a report.
Medical practitioners and NGOs have joined hands for safeguarding the patients rights.
Indian Medical Association has gone against the decision of the centre to introduce short term medical course in the undergraduate level in the country to meet the demand of rural doctors.
